Q4.How long will a new battery last before it needs replacing?
A. This is going to sound like it’s written by a politician, but it really is difficult to give a straight answer. There’s a wide variation. Some factors that make a difference are; weight of golf bag, frequency of use, temperature (batteries aren’t as efficient in cold weather), recharging promptly after use oh, and staying on the fairway helps a bit too. Besides all that, there can be a variation between two batteries even if they’re used in identical conditions. As a rough guide, you need to treat yourself to a new one sometime between one and three years.

Q6. I’ve already got an electric golf trolley battery. Can I use it with the GoKart?
A. Yes, as long as it’s the right size, call us and we’ll advise on this. We can supply you with a fitting kit. A small amount of DIY effort is involved but there are really clear instructions to follow, and from a save-the-planet point of view, as much as we’d really love to sell you a new battery, if there’s some life left in your old one then we’re keen for you to use it.

Q7. Can I use ‘hedgehog wheels’?
A. Yes, and we’ve got together with the Hedgehog Golf Company, to produce a set of wheels to fit the GoKart electric golf trolley. They incorporate the patented stud design accepted by green keepers all over the world to be kind to the course in wet conditions. They come in kit form, which includes all three wheels and simple to follow fitting instructions. Please check with your club to make sure they allow Hedgehog wheels on the course.

Q8. What if I have a problem?
A. You can call our team of technical experts who’ll work out what needs to be done to get you up and running again. If your trolley needs to come back to base for repair we’ll lend you a GoKart to keep you on the road (and this is free whether you’re in warranty or not). If it’s a battery or charger problem we’ll send you a new one straight away. You shout, we jump.

Q9. Where can I see a GoKart?
A. The GoKart electric golf trolley is only available to buy direct from us. We designed it and manufacture it here, in the UK. If you’re not sure, you can buy one and use it for up to one month. If you don’t want to keep it we’ll collect the trolley and give you a refund (excluding the transport of € 58 ) with no quibbling, but you will come off our Christmas list.

Q10. How long do you take to deliver?
A. We usually despatch between 1 and 3 working days of receiving an order (this can vary due to seasonal demand or unusual circumstances, but we’d let you know if this were to happen). Delivery is between 1 and 5 working days after despatch. If you have a particular deadline (birthday/holiday/forgot anniversary guilt), let us know and we’ll bend over backs, turn somersaults and triple saltos to fit in with your plans.

Q11. Is it OK to take the GoKart battery on a plane?
A. Yes, but check with your airline first.

Q12. Will any golf bag fit the GoKart?
A. Any standard bag will fit.

Q13. Does the GoKart freewheel?
A. Yes. It freewheels in the direction it drives, so forward. This means that if you do have a problem you can still trundle the trolley in front of you.

Q14. What kind of slope can a GoKart golf trolley cope with?
A. Anything you can get up without climbing gear. Seriously, we’ve tested the trolley on some really extreme courses, and it eats them all for breakfast. The reason for this is our rather muscular 230W motor, which quietly pumps iron in the garage while you’re not looking.

Q15. What if I forget my battery?
A. You’re a bit stuck. The battery, when clicked into position, is an integral part of the trolley, holding the whole unit together. Life is not fun with a floppy GoKart. Expect derision.

Q16. How fast does a GoKart golf trolley go?
A. Fast. We haven’t put it on a running machine but at full pelt you’d need a steady jog to keep up with it. When speed golf follows the trend for speed dating etc, we’re ready for it. The motor once again is the culprit.

Q17. What’s the maximum weight a GoKart can carry?
A. We need to be more specific here. The maximum weight it can carry is two (supposedly adult) men riding on one trolley around the GoKart office. Testing was however cut short when they crashed into the photocopier. In a sensible situation on the golf course, you wouldn’t want more than about 15kgs on the trolley. We don’t say this is a maximum, but if you volunteer to carry everyone else’s stuff you will have to buy a battery more often than if you kept quiet. We leave it up to you. Mind the photocopier though.

Q18. I have two batteries and I use them in rotation. Do I need two chargers?
A. No. The important point to remember is that once charged, our batteries stay fully charged for several weeks when disconnected from the charger. The method with two batteries and one charger is as follows: Starting with both batteries fully charged, have one on the charger and one standing by off the charger. When you play, use the battery which is NOT on charge. When you come back, take the other battery off charge and put the one just used on charge. Repeat this routine every time and you will use each battery equally and will never go out to play with a flat battery (on your golf trolley).

Q19. Your golf trolley makes my car dirty. Do you make a bag to put the GoKart in?
A. Yes, we make a really nice bag. It’s tough, has a proper zip that won’t break, and it’s just the right size to make your GoKart feel loved and all cuddly and warm.

Q20. Can I sit down when I play golf with my GoKart golf trolley?
A. Yes, you need the GoKart seat. It’s really easy to er…sit on.

Q. Do you offer a vegetarian option?
A. That’s just silly.

Q. Can I get wing mirrors for my GoKart golf trolley?

Questions about the GoKart Automatic:

Q21. Do I have to keep holding the handle all the time and will it stop if I let go of the handle?
A. You don’t have to hold the handle all the time. Once you’re walking, if you let go, the trolley will continue running at the same speed. If you want to stop, go faster or slow down, just grab the handle again and the Automatic will change it’s speed accordingly.

Q22. Is it a remote or wireless system that detects your walking speed?
A. No. The GoKart Automatic handle has micro-switches built into it. They detect the small amount of pressure that you transfer through the handle as your speed changes, and adjust the motor speed to suit.

Q23. How much extra does the GoKart Automatic cost compared to the standard model?
A. €40

Q24. Can I still fit my umbrella and bottle holder to the Automatic handle?
A. You can. There is a slight modification to the umbrella holder, but we’ll supply these revised parts free of charge to all existing owners of umbrella holders that require them.

Q25. Does the GoKart Automatic affect the power consumption?
A. Yes. It uses less battery power to play 18 holes, compared to the GoKart with standard speed control. This is because it will always use the minimum amount of power to keep up with you. With the standard speed control you can be holding the trolley back without realising it.

Q26. What’s the switch for that I can see on the handle?
A. It’s an isolator switch. If you leave the trolley unattended, outside the clubhouse for example, manually moving the trolley won’t cause the motor to start. Once out on the course, this switch is not used.

Q27. Will the Automatic still work if I’m wearing gloves?
A. Yes. You can wear anything you like on your hands, and the Automatic will work just fine.

Q28. I like to switch off down hills. Can I still do this?
A. You don’t have to. The GoKart Automatic will automatically switch off the motor when you go down hills.

Q29. Is it possible to upgrade an existing trolley?
A. Yes, but it has to come back to the factory and it involves some quite major surgery. We can arrange to collect the trolley from your home or work, bring it back to base, carry out the upgrade and return it afterwards. We take care of everything. For more information on ordering this, please click here.

Q30. Can I come to the factory to have the upgrade fitted?
A. You can by appointment only, and your trolley will be under the knife for around two hours. We will sit you down and give you a sweet cup of tea to help you get over this.

Q31. Can you send me a loan trolley while mine is being upgraded?
A. We offer this service free of charge to UK owners that have a breakdown only. It’s not available free of charge when we get your trolley back for this upgrade. We suggest you organise to have your trolley collected at a time when you won’t miss it too much.

Q32. Can I trade my old trolley in for a GoKart Automatic?
A. We don’t have a trade in option, but any GoKart can be upgraded from standard to automatic.

Q33. Can the larger scorecard cover be fitted to the GoKart with standard speed control?
A. No

Q34. Is the GoKart Automatic patented?
A. We currently have a patent application pending for the Automatic.
